January 1, 2005 – PetData continued growing at a rapid pace and added three more clients in the fourth quarter of 2004. Philadelphia, PA, Charlotte, NC and Montgomery County, MD approved agreements to have PetData manage their animal licensing departments.

August 16, 2004 – The City of Houston awarded PetData a three-year contract to manage its animal licensing operations. Houston, the fourth largest city in the country with more than two million people, is expecting PetData to significantly increase its animal licensing rates. The contract has two one-year renewal options that are expected to extend the contract to a full five-years.

“We did a tremendous amount of due diligence regarding PetData before hiring them,” said John Nix, Director of Houston’s Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (“BARC”). PetData has a great track record in terms of increasing licensing for their other clients, and we believe they will do the same for us. We also undertook a comprehensive analysis of our costs and we determined that our costs are at least 50% higher than what PetData charges. So not only do we anticipate much higher revenues, we are going to save hundreds of thousands of dollars right away. We are already putting six more animal control officers in the field with the money we are saving.”

“PetData has a reputation for increasing animal licensing for its clients, but there is another main benefit that we provide our clients – job creation. With the economic benefit that PetData provides through cost savings and new revenues, our clients have more money to hire additional animal control officers, which improves the quality of life in the community, said Chris Richey, President of PetData. “The fact that Houston has already been able to hire six more animal control officers is a strong testimonial about the benefits of a public/private partnership.”
