License Requirements

Licensing Ordinance

All dogs in the City of Eugene with a set of permanent canine teeth or 6 months old, whichever comes first, must have a current rabies vaccination and must be licensed with the City of Eugene within 5 days of being in the city.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due within 45 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 5 days of obtaining a pet with a set of permanent canine teeth or over the age of 6 months old, or within 5 days of moving into the City of Eugene.

A late fee of $15 is added to the license fee if your license is not purchased by the due date. Late fees do not apply to voluntary cat licenses.

License Term

Licenses may be purchased for 1, 2 or 3 years, with fees charged accordingly. New licenses expire on the anniversary of the purchase date. Renewal licenses expire on the anniversary of the prior license expiration.
