Fees are not required for service animals that assist the hearing, seeing, or physically impaired.

To promote microchipping of family pets, a device that helps with the quick return of lost pets to their owners, the cost for licensing non-microchipped pets is higher than for licensing those that are microchipped.

Overpayments of $3 or less will be applied as a donation to the Irving Animal Care Fund. If you want to make a voluntary donation to the Animal Care Fund, please note the amount of the donation on your paperwork and add it to the license fee.

Due Date
Payment for your license is due within 30 days of your pet’s vaccination date or prior license expiration date.
Payment Options

By mail: Pay for your license with a check or money order made payable to Irving Animal Services and mail to PetData.

Online: If you received a notice in the mail and no additional paperwork is required to complete your license, you may be eligible to pay for your license online with a major credit card. A $1.95 convenience fee will be added for each transaction.


Required Paperwork
  1. A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
  2. Your pet’s microchip number is required to receive the microchip discounted rate.
  3. Proof of spay/neuter, such as a signed statement from a veterinarian, an invoice for services, or indication of spay/neuter on the rabies certificate, is required if the pet has been altered since the last registration period and you are applying for the lower spayed/neutered registration fee.
  4. Proof of age is required to receive the discounted fees for senior citizens age 65 and over.
  5. A new application for a hearing, seeing, or physical assistance dog must provide a copy of the papers from the training agency.

Please send legible copies of your paperwork and maintain a copy for your records.
