Free Ride Home Program: If your currently licensed pet is ever lost, Animal Care & Control may be able to return the pet to you without taking the pet to the shelter up to once per year. Please be sure your information is up to date so you can be contacted.

Payment for your license is due on the last day of the month in which
your previous license expires.
By ordinance, a late fee of $25 is added to each license not purchased within 60 days of the due date.

You may pay for your annual animal license in one of the following ways:
- You may license by mail and pay for your license with a check or money order made payable to "Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control."
- You may license online and pay for your license with a major credit card. A convenience fee will apply per transaction. Multiple pets can be licensed in one transaction.
- You may license in person at the Kansas City Animal Shelter or at participating veterinary clinics. Please bring a copy of your pet's current rabies certificate.
Please submit a copy of your current rabies vaccination certificate, signed by a licensed veterinarian. An invoice or statement of services is not sufficient as proof of rabies vaccination. Check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
If applying for a new service dog license, please include proof of service dog status, such as papers from a training agency.
Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please retain a copy of your vaccination certificate for your records.

You may apply for your license in person at the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter located at 4400 Raytown Road.
You may also purchase a license at a participating veterinary clinic. Click here for a current listing of participating clinics.
A $2.00 surcharge may be added to each license purchased at the shelter or at a veterinary clinic. If you wish to avoid this surcharge, you may purchase your pet’s license by mail.
