Spayed or neutered animals	$7.00
Fertile animals (not spayed or neutered)	$14.00

The cost for licensing unaltered or fertile pets is higher than for licensing spayed or neutered pets in order to promote sterilization and to reduce pet overpopulation and starvation.

Payment for your license is due annually by January 31st. Early licensing begins December 1st.

You may license by mail and pay for your license with a check or money order made payable to "City of Raleigh Animal Licensing."

You may license online and pay for your license with a major credit card. A convenience fee will apply per transaction.

You may license in person at one of the two City Service Centers and make payment via cash, check or money order. Please bring a copy of all applicable documentation.

Please submit a completed renewal form or license application. Be sure to fill in each pet's current rabies vaccination tag number, vaccination date and vaccination expiration date (in MM/DD/YY format).

If your pet has been spayed or neutered since the last licensing period, please have your veterinarian sign the verification box on the form. Alternatively, you may send in a copy of a spay/neuter certificate or any form signed by your veterinarian indicating that your pet has been altered.
