Licensing Ordinance

All dogs, cats and ferrets 4 months of age and older are required to be vaccinated against rabies and be registered annually with the City of Plano.

Due Date

Payment for your registration is due 30 days from the expiration of your current registration's expiration. If you are registering for the first time, you must purchase a registration within 30 days of obtaining a dog, cat or ferret over the age of 4 months or within 30 days of establishing residence in the City of Plano.

Any owner that applies for an annual registration thirty-one (31) or more days after the expiration date of their pet's previous registration shall be assessed a late fee of $10.00.

License Term

Your pet’s first registration is valid for one year from the date it was issued. Subsequent licenses will expire one year from the expiration of the previous license.
