Licensing Ordinance

All dogs 4 months of age and older must be licensed annually with Prince William County by January 1st or within 30 days of turning 4 months old. Newly acquired dogs must be licensed within 30 days.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due by January 1st. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a pet over the age of 4 months or within 30 days of moving into Prince William County.

License Term

Licenses are valid from January 1st through December 31st and must be renewed annually by January 1st. The rabies vaccination must be valid on the date of purchase.
