Licensing Ordinance

All dogs 4 months of age and older must be licensed with the City of Roanoke within 30 days of turning 4 months old, or within 30 days of being acquired or moving into the City.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due by January 1st. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a dog over the age of 4 months or within 30 days of moving into the City of Roanoke.

License Term

Licenses are valid from January 1st through December 31st and are due by January 1st annually.
