Licensing Ordinance

All dogs and cats 6 months of age and older must be licensed with Palm Beach County within 30 days of being in the county.

Mailing Address

To license by mail:

Enclose copies of all required paperwork. The license application below may be downloaded and included, but it is not required.
Determine the correct license fee for each of your pets.
Make your check or money order payable to "Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control." Please do not send cash.
Mail your paperwork and payment to:

Required Paperwork

A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
Proof of spay/neuter, such as a signed statement from a veterinarian or an invoice for services is required if the pet has been altered since the last licensing period and you are applying for the lower spayed/neutered license fee.
Include the owner's date of birth (age 70 years or older) if requesting the senior citizen discount for the first time.

Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please only send copies and retain the originals for your records.

Standard Licensing Fees	1 Year
Unaltered Pet	$75.00
Spayed/Neutered Pet	$15.00
Senior Citizens Age 70+
Spayed/Neutered Pet Only	$11.25
Other Fees
Late Fee	$10.00
Replacement Tag	$5.00

The cost for licensing unaltered or fertile pets is higher than for licensing spayed or neutered pets in order to promote sterilization and to reduce pet overpopulation.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due within 30 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a pet over the age of 6 months or within 30 days of moving into Palm Beach County.

A late fee of $10 is added to the license fee if your license is not purchased by the due date.
