License Transfer

A valid City of Citrus Heights license can be transferred to a new owner of the same pet. This request can be made by contacting customer service toll-free at 1-855-223-1682.

A valid license from another jurisdiction may be transferred to the City of Citrus Heights at no charge for the remainder of the license term, up to a maximum of 12 months. In order to apply for this transfer, please send the pet’s current rabies vaccination certificate, a copy of the pet’s valid license from another jurisdiction, and the owner’s current contact information to the following address:
