All dogs, cats and ferrets 4 months of age and older must be vaccinated
for rabies and licensed with the city of Las Vegas. Only residents within
the city Limits of Las Vegas are required to license with the city.
Ready to purchase your license? If you would like to license online, a convenience fee of up to $2.00 will apply for each transaction. Any required documents, such as your pet's current rabies vaccination certificate, may be scanned and uploaded or submitted later by fax, mail or email. The license will be issued after all required documents are received.
Current rabies vaccination certificate: A current
rabies vaccination is required in order to license your pet. Unless
we have a current vaccination certificate already on file, a current
certificate must be submitted. Please check your certificate for correct
address and pet information.
Required for Discounted License Fees:
Proof of Spay or Neuter is required if you are applying
for the lower spayed/neutered license fee. Proof can be a signed statement
from a veterinarian or an invoice for services. Once this proof is
on file, it will not be required for each license renewal.
Proof of age is required to receive the discounted
fees for senior citizens age 65 and over. A photocopy of any document
showing the owner’s name and date of birth, such as a driver’s
license or ID card, is acceptable. Any personal or sensitive identification
numbers may be removed from the copy prior to submission.
Proof of disability status is required to receive
the discounted fees for disabled persons. A photocopy of any document
showing that the pet owner receives disability benefits under Social
Security or an equivalent disability retirement program is acceptable
to meet this requirement.
Proof of registered service animal is required for
a new service dog license. The owner of a service animal must provide
documentation of the animal being registered with a service animal
registry. Service dogs must be actually being used to act as a guide
for the blind or deaf in order to qualify for the discount.
Note: Please send legible copies of your paperwork and maintain a copy
for your records.
