Licensing Ordinance
All dogs, cats, and ferrets 4 months of age and older must be licensed with Alachua County within 30 days of being in the county.

Mailing Address
To license by mail:
- Enclose copies of all required paperwork. The license application below may be downloaded and included, but it is not required.
- Determine the correct license fee for each of your pets.
- Make your check or money order payable to “Alachua County Animal Resources Licensing.” Please do not send cash.

Required Paperwork
- A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please retain a copy of your documents for your records.

Due Date
Payment for your license is due on the expiration date of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license for a pet over the age of 4 months at the time of initial rabies vaccination or within 30 days of moving into Alachua County.
