Licensing Ordinance

All dogs 4 months of age and older in the City of Garden Grove must have a current rabies vaccination and be licensed with the City within 15 days of being in the City.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due within 15 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 15 days of obtaining a pet over the age of 4 months or within 15 days of moving into the City of Garden Grove.

A late fee is added to the license fee if your license is not purchased within 15 days after the expiration date. The late fee is $35.

License Term

The initial license is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. Renewal licenses will be valid for 1 year from prior license expiration date. The rabies vaccination must be current as of the date of purchase.
