Licensing Locations

Pet owners paying with cash may license their pet in person at Pasco City Hall, located at 525 North 3rd Avenue in Pasco. Please bring your pet’s rabies vaccination certificate and spay/neuter certificate (if applicable) with you.

Required Paperwork

  1. A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
  2. Proof of spay/neuter, such as a signed statement from a veterinarian or an invoice for services is required if the pet has been altered since the last licensing period and you are applying for the lower spayed/neutered license fee.
  3. A copy of owner’s utility/water bill showing SR RED on water description as proof of low-income senior, if applying for the low income senior discount for the first time.

Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please retain a copy of your documents for your records.

There are special regulations for licensing dogs deemed potentially dangerous and dangerous. Owners are required to register dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs at the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter located at 1312 South 18th Avenue in Pasco. For licensing and renewal requirements please contact the shelter at 1-509-545-3740.

The cost for licensing unaltered or fertile pets is higher than for licensing spayed or neutered pets in order to promote sterilization and to reduce pet overpopulation.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due within 30 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a pet over the age 7 months or within 30 days of moving into the City of Pasco.

A late fee is added to the license fee if your license is not purchased within 30 days of the prior license expiration date. The late fee is $10.
