License Transfer

If you have adopted or obtained a dog with a current Solano County license, you may apply for a transfer license in person at:

The transfer fee is $21 is for all cities and unincorporated areas, and an application for transfer must include a written letter authorizing transfer from the original owner to the new owner, along with the original owner’s photo ID and the new owner’s photo ID.

The transfer license will be issued for the remaining time that the license is valid. If the dog does not have a current license, it is the new owner's responsibility to vaccinate and license the dog.
